iLazy

I haven't been blogging much lately, but I promise my readers that I am in the process of coming up with some new things that will make this blog more interesting to want to read. I've just been kind of lazy *slash* busy with other probably unimportant things. I've been working on my relationship with life, as I like to call it, and my goal this week to to stop procrastinating. I say I will a lot, but I never go through with it. As a matter of fact, I have some unfinished homework sitting right next to me, and it's sunday night. i'll do it in the morning. :D plus, I still have to do my weekly laundry.

If you'd like to see what I am doing, day-to-day, hour-by-hour, just follow me on twitter. it's one of my sidebars, directly below my music, if you just want to read it from there.

Muchas amor

iPolyvore A Lot

So, I like fashion. It's super cool, and it's one of the funnest ways to express yourself. Polyvore is a website where you can express your style. What you do is you go around the web to your favorite stores' websites and pick your favorite products. You upload them to your items, and then you mix & match products in the Editor to come up with your own ideas for outfits. My polyvore is definately a thing I do to express my ideas, kind of like iWur, so you should check it out. :]

iRescue

Invisible Children, my favorite cause, is hosting an event all over the world on April 25th, 2009. It's called The Rescue.

Invisible Children (IC): IC is a charity/cause that is fighting for children in Africa. For 23 years, the government of Uganda and a rebel group called the Lords Resistance Army (LRA), led by a man named Joseph Kony, has engaged in Africa’s longest war. What Kony does is he kidnaps children while they are sleeping, and takes them away from their families forever. He forces them into his rebel army and makes them do things that are so horrible, that words can't even describe. The kids become soldiers. The only way to get out is to escape, and if they catch the children again, they're dead. Refusing to join the army is instant death, and many children have seen their siblings die right in front of them for resisting the LRA. IC works with governments of surrounding countries, as well as the Ugandan government to try to end this war. They also try to raise money for people living there, so they can get an education and create a better lifestyle for themselves. There are only two ways to end it: either by peace or by the gun. IC wants peace. Peace talks have been offered, but Joseph Kony never shows up. He's a coward. He's just one man. So how is one man terrorizing an entire society? This is a humanity crisis. He's just like Saddam. He's just like Hitler. One guy. One coward. He should be stopped.

The Rescue: On April 25, 2009, hundreds of cities around the globe will participate in The Rescue. The Rescue is like a statement. The kids of Uganda have to leave their homes at night everyday in order to steer clear of the LRA. It might be different, depending on what city you live in, so let me explain to you what we'll be doing in Lincoln, Nebraska, USA.

At 3:00 p.m., everyone will meet at the Memorial Cornhusker Stadium on the UNL campus, to be "abducted". We will drop off one of our family photos (bring 3) at the abduction site, symbolically leaving them behind. We will commute to the Centennial Mall, which is this fountain/park, located directly in front of the capital building. When we get there, we will sit and wait to be "rescued". While waiting, we will write letters to our political representatives, create art/photo projects and seek out media attention in an effort to petition our governments to develop a strategy and support existing efforts to rescue Kony’s child soldiers. We will be staying the night, and our commitment to stay overnight shows the sacrifice that we are willing to make. This sacrifice will speak to our leaders. If they come out, they become our "rescuers". after they 'rescue' us, then we can go back home. It's gonna be awesome.

The List of Our Rescuers:
Senator Mike Johanns
Senator Ben Nelson
Governor Dave Heineman
Mayor Chris Beutler
Warren Buffett
Bo Pelini
Doc Sadler
Brian Lepard
Tom Osborn

iWill Read More

I used to be someone who likes to read. Now? No. High School came along and decided to shove a few books down my throat (sorry), and now I hate reading. I was on fredflare.com, and I saw the trailer for "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak. They're actually making a movie for it! It's a children's book that is around 48 pages long about this boy, Max. Max is sent to bed without supper and imagines sailing away to the land of Wild Things, where he is made king. [That's the basic plot of the book.] How do you make a movie out of that? Watch the trailer.

The movie is coming out in October, this year, and I can't wait. Unfortunately, it won't take me until October to read a book like that. I love reading books and then watching the movie, so I'll just read a few other books to keep me busy. They're gonna be books I want to read. I don't like reading what everyone else is reading. *cough* Twighlight *cough*. I really don't even know how to spell it. :P

I have only two preferences when it comes to reading:
  • iLike books that take me into another world, because Earth is not even the least bit fascinating to me anymore.
  • iLike children's books that have more depth to them than 500 page long books.

Can anyone recommend any books books to me? It doesn't have to necessarily relate to my 2 preferences, but that would be cool if it did! :]

iLove It

Hey. iWur here.

So, I'm a little disappointed. Saturday, March 28, 2009 was Earth Hour. Everyone shuts off their lights for one hour. It's kinda like a statement against global warming. It was from 8:30p.m. - 9:30p.m. I kept my TV on, but you can do that. I got mad because just five minutes before Earth Hour, my sisters decided that they weren't gonna do it anymore. So, I just went to my room and watched a movie. I have a passion for this kind of stuff, and it's only once a year, so I was kind of sad.

I'm over it, but I thought I would blog about it to get it off my mind.

So today I've been searching for cool new music. I do that every once in a while to stay fresh. =] I got a few songs from Kanye West, Lil Wayne, 3OH!3, and Melody Gardot. She actually sings jazz-ish music, and I really like it. Lil Wayne is getting to be so Rock & Roll. He completely changed his image, and that isn't neccisarily a bad thing. I like his music a lot more lately. Kanye's album, 808's and Heartbreak is to die for. I love it so much, and I got all of the songs.

I was on the Urban Outfitters website, and I was looking at their music selection. They have a vinyl cd of 808's and Heartbreak, which I'm gonna buy when I can. I also want the Thriller album. They have a few turntables/record players, and I really want one. Great store. They sell everything, form laptop/iPod skins, to globes, to furniture, to clothes... They have an intersting book collection, and they even sell a Hamburger telephone as seen in Juno. :]] Sewing machines, cameras, board games, action figures... What don't they sell? If I had to pick one store to shop at for the rest of my life, it would probably be Urban Outfitters. The only problem is that there isn't one in Lincoln. I hate the stupid city. :[

I'm just becoming more an more of a fashion addict. I don't have any of my own money yet, so I can't buy anything I wanna buy, but my style is ridiculously, amazingly important to me. I think Urban Outfitters, Forever 21, American Apparel, We Love Colors, and Wal-Mart are actually pretty good at helping me create a simple, yet vintage style. It's what I love.

iWill

My first post. yay! I was originally gonna set up a picture/video or something for this, but iThink I'm just gonna write a little bit for today.

My blog is about me and my life, but it also deals with life in general. I'm the type of person who cares. iWant to be involved with world issues, and that may be because iCan just get so bored with high-school. So be it. That's just me.

iHope you can see a new perspective on life through my [i's].
